We all have to start somewhere, right? Well, if you want to get an idea as to what a major catastrophic event would do to our nation, than read this book.

This is a great book for those who might not comprehend the dangers of a cataclysmic event happening to them. It is so good that it sparked a congressional debate.
Without giving away any spoilers, the story is about a small town trying to survive the aftermath of what is possibly a nationwide EMP (Electro-magnetic Pulse) attack.
The main character is a retired Army officer who is now a college professor at the towns local college. He ends up getting thrust into a position of taking care of not just his family, but the town as well.
This book captures many of the details we don't think about when it comes to a crisis.
The writing is top notch and if it doesn't move you to at least want to get yourself prepared... well I'm not sure what will.
How to deal with elderly, family members with heath issues and so much more.
Not to mention, the characters and plot are enough to keep you entertained even if "prepping" really isn't your thing.
I think whether or not you have an interest in the whole "survival genre", you'll enjoy this book. The story is riveting and sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
