Yum, Yum, Yum

So by now (if you've seen the other articles) you know that at last, we come to food. Food is number four on the list of survival essentials. I would suggest that when prepping for food supplies, only store what you like.

Now if you have a family of course you should include them in the process as well, but having food that suits your pallet will boost your morale in a crisis.

The Basics

Lets list some food items from the most basic, to full blown meals.

Emergency food rations - This is a three day ration square that will keep you alive if the time comes that you need to use it.

It's sweet and dense and packs enough nutrients to keep you healthy should you find yourself in a crisis.

Survival Tabs - This particular item is a fifteen day supply of food tabs that will (according to the company) keep you alive through a crisis.

They come in a few different flavors and have pretty solid reviews. I wouldn't rule these out. If push comes to shove, what keeps you alive is good enough!

MRE's - Pretty much anyone who's served has tried an MRE at some point. (If you haven't, you should) This product is a high calorie meal meant to keep soldiers functioning properly.

Depending on which one you get, some aren't that bad. Some people complain a little more than others. this a good item to keep at home, due to the fact that they can store for about 5 years.

30 day freeze dried food supply - Another great item to keep at home. Freeze dried food is a wonderful invention of the 20th century. By freeze drying you remove the water and leave the bulk of a foods nutrient value.

I think everyone should have some freeze dried food at home. All you need to do is add hot water and you're good to go. This is by far the best tasting of all the products.
